Casting announced for LONE FLYER - THE LAST FLIGHT OF AMY JOHNSON at The Watermill Theatre

‘Lone Flyer’ a powerful drama by Ade Morris has announced its casting for its return to The Watermill Theatre in September.

The play which will run at The Watermill from 10 September – 25 September is about Amy Johnson one of Britain’s greatest female pilots.

Louise Willoughby will star as Amy Johnson alongside returning actor Benedict Salter who will multi-role a series of other male parts.

Amy Johnson was the first woman to fly solo from England to Australia and with the outbreak of the Second World War, she finds herself facing her greatest challenge yet.

The play was forced to close at The Watermill in November 2020 and has since been playing at the Jermyn Street Theatre as part of their Footprints Festival and has achieved 5 off West End Nominations for Best Production, Sound Design, Director, Leading Performance and Supporting Performance.

The play is to be directed by Lucy Betts with design by Isobel Nicholson, lighting design by Harry Armytage and sound design by Justin Teasdale.

The play will have socially distanced performances on 15, 17, 21 and 25 September at varying times for those who are not yet comfortable in returning to a full audience theatre.
