World premiere of new comedy JUMPING THE SHARK to tour in 2023

A celebration of the TV sitcom and its place in our hearts, new comedy Jumping the Shark is set to tour the country from 28 January - opening at Theatre Royal, Bury St Edmunds.

Jumping The Shark is written by new comedy writing partnership, David Cantor and Michael Kingsbury (who also directs).

Five strangers gather in the conference room of a small hotel in Farnham. Despite character differences, one thing links Pam, Gavin, Morgan, Dale, and Amy... they all want to realise their dreams through comedy.

Frank Donohue, the finest sitcom writer of his generation, has flown in from Los Angeles to conduct a seminar teaching his five lucky disciples how to write the perfect TV sitcom. But as he reveals the tricks of the trade, their everyday lives are exposed, leading to mix ups, farcical revelations... and gut-wrenching tragedy.

The cast features several well-known TV favourites: David Schaal (The Office), Harry Visinoni (Coronation Street), Sarah Moyle (Doctors), Jasmine Armfield (EastEnders), Robin Sebastian (who has played comedy legend Kenneth Williams multiple times on TV and on stage), and Jack Trueman (Fever Pitch, Hope Theatre).

Following Bury St Edmunds, the show will visit Southend, Portsmouth, Dartford, Crewe, Edinburgh, Tunbridge Wells and Basingstoke.
