Now that the UK is about to enter a second national lockdown, entertainment venues are once again having to close their doors meaning that many shows are having to reschedule again. 

The world premiere of Paul Harvard’s GHBoy will premiere at the Charing Cross Theatre on 4 November with two performances as originally planned, but it will then close again for the lockdown. It is currently planning to reopen on 3 December, with a press night on 5 December and running through to 20 December 2020. 

Producer James Quaife said: “It’s vitally important that as an industry, as well as community, we continue to make plans and strive ahead to keep our theatres and performance spaces open. Although we prepare to go into another lockdown, as a company we are delighted that we will be able to return to the stage in December and look forward to presenting this brilliant new play to live audience very soon.” 

GHBoy tells the story of the burgeoning party scene of East London. With a swathe of young men dying unexpectedly, there are whispers of an unnamed killer on the loose. Robert is grieving the death of his father, whilst stuck in a life of substance abuse and infidelity. He fears that he will never find love. Sergio gives him a chance to turn his back on self-sabotage, but can they find a way out of addiction and escape whatever has been killing many other young men when something beyond his control is driving Robert to the point of self-destruction. 

Sylvester Akinrolabu, Geoff Aymer, Marc Bosch, Buffy Davis, Jimmy Essex, Devesh Kishore and Aryana Ramkhalawon star in the production, directed by Jon Pashley.
