Performances of the hit West End production Harry Potter and the Cursed Child were due to recommence in late February, but that suspension has been extended again until Sunday 18 July 2021.

Theatres in the West End were forced to shut down in mid-December when the rise in Covid-19 cases caused London to go into Tier 3. The second national lockdown has thrown all plans of reopening out of the window again, with theatres being unable to confirm a re-opening date.

Announcing the further suspension on Twitter, the play has asked that any ticket holders affected by this news wait to be contacted by their point of purchase.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is based on an original new story by J.K Rowling, Jack Thorne and John Tiffany and is written by Jack Thorne. It is directed by John Tiffany with set by Christine Jones, movement by Steven Hoggett, lighting by Neil Austin, costumes by Katrina Lindsay, illusions by Jamie Harrison and sound by Gareth Fry.  The music and arrangements are by Imogen Heap, with music supervision and arrangement by Martin Lowe.
