West End stars to perform in UK tour of bio musical JUDY & LIZA
Charting the careers and relationship between Hollywood legends and mother and daughter, dazzling stage show Judy & Liza begins its UK tour on 19 May at the Swan Theatre in Worcester.
Marking the show’s landmark 10th anniversary, the tour will go on to play at the City Varieties Music Hall in Leeds, Pomegranate Theatre in Chesterfield, Lowther Pavilion in Lytham St Annes, Floral Pavilion in New Brighton, Albany Theatre in Coventry, Theatr Clwyd and Lichfield Garrick. The show will also tour in October with dates to be announced soon.
Produced by Bill Elms Productions and On Song Productions, Judy & Liza has been created and written by West End star Emma Dears who stars as Liza Minnelli, alongside Helen Sheals as Judy Garland.
This dazzling production tells the turbulent tale of the stars against the backdrop of their infamous 1964 London Palladium concert. Audiences are taken on an emotional rollercoaster journey as they discover the uncanny parallels between some of Judy and Liza’s most iconic songs and their own personal lives.
Producer Bill Elms commented: “I am thrilled to be working on this wonderful show again, taking the 10th Anniversary UK tour of Judy & Liza on the road. It is a show very close to my heart as I worked on the very first production. It is going to be very special tour when it opens next month, as for many of the theatres we visit, this will be their first show of the year, coming out of lockdown. We can promise audiences a safe and very memorable experience as they rediscover the joy of live entertainment through this captivating show.”
