Two weeks in a row, we have been treated to performances from West End stars on ITV’s The Voice; Lauren Drew last week and Matt Croke last night.

It’s always a treat when someone well-known in the musical theatre industry pops up on the primetime Saturday night TV show, with names such as Nathan Amzi, Kerry Ellis and Dean John-Wilson having appeared in previous series.

Lauren Drew, best known for appearing in Six, Heathers and Kinky Boots to name a few, gave a mind-blowing performance of ‘Mamma Knows Best’ last week, earning her a spot in Anne-Marie’s team going forward in the competition.

Then last night, Matt Croke wowed the judges with his rendition of ‘Come What May’, getting him a place on Olly Murs team. Croke is best known for playing the title character in the West End production of Disney’s Aladdin and he more recently appeared in the concert production of Hair, which is set to return later this year.

We love the fact that these incredible performers are flying the flag for our industry. Let’s hope we are treated to more in the next few weeks!
