Last night saw the winners of the 2021 Critics’ Choice Awards announced in a virtual ceremony, which included a number of West End names.

Writer Emerald Fennell, who has written the book for Andrew Lloyd Webber’s upcoming new production of Cinderella, won the Best Original Screenplay for Promising Young Woman; Josh O’Connor (soon to be seen in the National Theatre’s televised production of Romeo and Juliet) scooped the gong for Best Actor in a Drama Series for playing Prince Charles in The Crown; and Olivier Award-nominated Hannah Waddingham took home the award for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for her performance as Rebecca Walton in Ted Lasso.

Stage and screen performers Daniel Kaluuya and John Boyega also won awards for Best Supporting Actor for Judas and the Black Messiah, and Best Actor in a Movie Made for Television or Limited Series award for Small Axe, respectively.

Congratulations to all of the winners!
