West End & TV stars to perform in streamed event from the Blackpool Winter Gardens
The West End comes to our screens via the Blackpool Winter Gardens this month, which sees some of the town’s homegrown stars performing songs from our favourite musicals.
West End in Blackpool features appearances by TV personality and musical theatre star Jodie Prenger, Emmerdale siblings and performers Tom Lister and Kelsey-Beth Crossley, Ashley Luke Lloyd (Billy Elliot, Dreamgirls) and Laura Wilson (Grease, Shrek), alongside a West End ensemble of performers. They will be also be Top Hat stars, Charlotte Gooch and Alan Birkett, who will perform a captivating American Smooth.
The show celebrates the rich history of the Blackpool Winter Gardens and those who have performed there, in this unique show combining documentary footage, and stunning performances and visuals.
Performances will include Sondheim’s classic ‘Send in the Clowns’, Frank Sinatra’s uplifting ‘All Of Me’, Shirley Bassey’s enchanting (Where Do I Begin) ‘Love Story’, Fred Astaire’s romantic ‘Cheek to Cheek’, ABBA’s power-ballad ‘The Winner Takes It All’, Ethel Merman’s invigorating ‘There’s No Business Like Show Business’ and Queen’s haunting melody ‘The Show Must Go On’.
