Trajectory Theatre announce new immersive show CIRCUS IN A BOTTLE
Trajectory Theatre have announced their brand new live immersive show, Circus In A Bottle, taking place at CRYPT between 29 March – 3 April.
Circus In A Bottle follows ‘The Barker’ who has grown up in the circus yet has inherited none of his family’s skills. He’s witnessed it all; daring feats, acts that have defied logic, defined generations and highlighted the magic of the circus ring. But now those legends have vanished into history... or have they? Along with his miniature assistant, they recreate those circus acts from the past before your very eyes.
The magical experience fuses live performance with cutting edge technology, with the help of Magic Leap augmented reality headsets to bring the world of The Barker into the real world. It follows on from the unfortunate cancellation of this year’s VAULT Festival where it was due to make its world premiere. Now in the CRYPT, audiences will discover the highs and lows of life in the big top. Circus In A Bottle showcases Trajectory Theatre’s mission to create immersive theatre through the introduction of digital tools to amplify live theatre; it is the culmination of 4 years of work with these goals in mind.
The Barkers miniature assistant was created using high tech elements at the forefront of gaming and technology. From motion capture, to accurately capturing the unique movements whilst also trying to make them realistic and believable, to artificial intelligence that helps the Assistant to interact with the audience and the people they meet along the way.
Performer Thomas Jancis said: “It is always a pleasure for us when Monty first appears and I ask the audience to wave to him. The delight they have as he waves back lets me know, yes, we’re going to have fun tonight!”
