TOPDOG/UNDERDOG returns to Broadway for 20th anniversary production

The Pulitzer Prize-winning show Topdog/Underdog by Suzan-Lori Parks will return to Broadway’s John Golden Theatre to celebrate its twentieth anniversary, previewing from 27 September for a limited 16-week run.

The production will star Corey Hawkins (In The Heights) as Lincoln and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (Watchmen) as Booth, and is directed by Kenny Leon, with set design by Arnulfo Maldonado, costumes by Dede Ayite, lighting by Allen Lee Hughes, and sound by Justin Ellington.

Topdog/Underdog is a darkly comic fable of brotherly love and family identity, and tells the story of two brothers, Lincoln (Hawkins) and Booth (Abdul-Mateen II), names given to them as a joke by their father. Haunted by the past and their obsession with the street con game, three-card monte, the brothers come to learn the true nature of their history.

Tickets for the show will go on sale on 20 June here.
