Top Of The World – The James Cagney Musical will receive an invite-only workshop presentation in the West End this month, it has been announced.

Top Of The World follows James Cagney from his early days on the streets of New York as a vaudeville song-and-dance man, to his rise as cinema’s original tough guy and one of Hollywood’s brightest stars.

Previously known as Cagney The Musical, the original piece features music and lyrics by Robert Creighton (who also stars as Cagney himself) and Christopher McGovern, a book by Peter Colley and choreography by Tony Award nominee Joshua Bergasse. The workshop has new direction by John Rando (Back To The Future – The Musical).

The show previously enjoyed a run of over 500 performances in New York, along with sold-out runs in Los Angeles and Salt Lake City. Top Of The World has been further developed with an expanded book, new musical numbers, and has its sights on West End and Broadway.
