Timothée Chalamet to star as Young Willy Wonka in new musical film

Timothée Chalamet is set to play a young Willy Wonka in a new musical film by Warner Bros Pictures.

Wonka will act as a prequel to previous film adaptations based on Roald Dahl’s popular children’s book, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and will focus on the early life of the world’s most famous chocolatier.

David Heyman will produce the film, which will be directed by Paul King and is based on a script by Simon King.

Production is expected to begin in September, with the film scheduled to be released in cinemas in March 2023.
