Tickets on sale for TILT 2021, one of the UK’s largest aerial and physical theatre festivals

It has been announced that TILT, one of the UK’s largest aerial and physical theatre festivals, will be returning to Birmingham for its 6th year in the city, with an adapted hybrid festival running live, online and outdoors from 12-23 July.

The festival features aerial and physical theatre from world class performers, with world premieres and free family outdoor shows. The event will also offer circus sessions for parents and infants, along with masterclasses and workshops for upcoming artists, professionals and young people aged between 7 and 14.

RoguePlay, Birmingham’s highly physical theatre company, will produce the festival using their unique style of narrative theatre that combines aerial and ground-based circus, contemporary dance, spoken word and physical theatre.

Alongside ticketed events, the festival will also include an afternoon of free outdoor shows for all the family on 17 July, which includes a performance of RoguePlay’s acclaimed production of Around the World in 80 Days. After the performance, audience members will be invited to take part and try out circus skills for themselves.

Artistic director of RoguePlay and producer of TILT festival, Kim Wildborne, said: “After a year of uncertainty we can’t express how thrilled we are to return this summer with an even bigger offer! As well as events taking place indoors, TILT 21 audiences will be able to experience a spectacular programme of open-air performances presented at Tea Works, a brand-new cultural open space in Digbeth.”
