The Old Joint Stock Theatre proudly presents the Drama Desk-nominated Outstanding Musical, THE MAD ONES, for its LIVE UK premiere and limited engagement at our esteemed Birmingham venue, running from Wednesday, April 10th, to Saturday, April 20th, 2024.

The Old Joint Stock are thrilled to introduce the exceptional cast for their spring production The Mad Ones, featuring the remarkable talents of Dora Gee, Safia Bartley, Ryan Bartholomew, Thea Jo-Wolfe and Molly Kilcullen.
THE MAD ONES was an instant YouTube viral sensation, telling the captivating tale of Samantha Brown. After the tragic loss of her best friend Kelly in a car wreck, Samantha finds herself grappling with profound questions about identity and courage. Will she adhere to her mother's aspirations, or will she summon the bravery to chart her own path into the unknown?
This marks the first of three in-house musical productions at the Old Joint Stock Theatre in 2024, setting the stage for a year of extraordinary performances.

Dora graduated from The Musical Theatre Academy in 2020, and since then she has gone on to gain a number of professional credits including: Maid Marion in Robin Hood (Campus West Pantomime), Lead Vocalist (AIDAcosma, AIDAprima), Fairy Oceana in Treasure Island (Campus West Pantomime), Deb in Ordinary Days (The Town and Gown Theatre, Cambridge), Ayn Marigold in Hill Behind the Hill (Tristan Bates Theatre, London), Backing Vocalist in A West End Christmas (The Actors Church, London).

Safia Bartley - Kelly
“Safia is a 2023 Musical Theatre Masters graduate of The Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, where she was awarded the Leverhulme Arts Trust Scholarship. Her credits include ‘Rae’ in Rainbow Rae and The Colour Stone Rescue (Eastbourne Theatres), ‘The Lightbulb Princess’ in The Lightbulb Princess UK Tour, ‘Paulina’ in Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown (Sherman Theatre) and more. Before training in musical theatre, Safia gained a bachelor’s degree in Media, Journalism and Culture from Cardiff University. “

Molly Kilcullen - Understudy Sam & Kelly
Molly is currently in her third year of training at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. Credits whilst training include Liolà, New Labour, Rough Girls, The Human Game, Here Comes a Chopper.
