In a press conference this evening, the Prime Minister has announced that social distancing restrictions will be lifted from 19 July and therefore, theatres will be able to operate at full capacity.

People will also no longer be instructed to work from home, masks will not be mandatory and test and trace details will not need to be collected by law.

This is incredibly welcome news for theatre producers, many of whom have had to delay their openings because of the limitations in place.

Whilst some may still approach with caution, this is the news that we’ve been longing for so our industry can start to rebuild itself.
