Theatre Royal Stratford East announces full cast for THE WONDERFUL WORLD OF DISSOCIA
Theatre Royal Stratford East have announced full casting for Anthony Neilson’s poignant and comical delve into the nature of mental illness, The Wonderful World of Dissocia, running at the venue from 16 September-15 October.
Leah Harvey, BAFTA nominated star of the Apple TV+ series Foundation and last seen on stage in the National Theatre’s Small Island, will play Lisa, alongside Archie Backhouse (Hunger, Arcola Theatre) as Goat, Leander Deeny (Robin Hood, The Watermill) as Victor, Michael Grady-Hall (House of Shades, Almeida Theatre) as Vince, Dominique Hamilton (Alice’s Adventures Underground, Waterloo Vaults) as Jane, Daniel Millar (Measure for Measure, Shakespeare’s Globe) as Oathtaker, Phoebe Naughton (The Keyworker’s Circle, Almeida Theatre) as Britney and Tomi Ogbaro (The Book of Dust, Bridge Theatre) as Insecurity Guard.
What would you do if you lost an hour from your day? How far would you go to rescue what you’ve lost?
In search of a lost hour that that has tipped the balance of her life, Lisa Jones is on a quest through a surreal world, filled with insecurity guards, flying cars, singing polar bears and wild-goose chases. The inhabitants of Dissocia are a curious blend of the funny, the friendly and the downright brutal. Anthony Neilson’s cult play is a poignant and comical delve into the nature of mental illness.
Directed by Emma Baggott, the production features set and costume design by Grace Smart, with lighting by Lucía Sánchez Roldán, composition and sound by Alexandra Faye Braithwaite, movement and intimacy direction by Angela Gasparetto, and casting by Annelie Powell CDG.
