Theatre Royal Plymouth announces 2020 festive season
Following a successful application to the Government Culture Recovery Fund and with help from the new initiative from the National Lottery, Theatre Royal Plymouth has announced a full Christmas 2020 season, including a socially distanced pantomime.
The season includes Robinson Crusoe, created with long standing partners, Qdos Entertainment. The show will run for three weeks only from Saturday 12 December 2020 - 3 January 2021 in the theatre’s large Lyric auditorium, with casting to be announced.
In the theatre’s smaller Drum auditorium, Stuff & Nonsense will present The Gingerbread Man; perfect for families with young children. It tells the story of a magical gingerbread man who finds his feet fast and heads out on the journey of a lifetime. It runs in The Drum from 8 December 2020 to 9 January 2021.
Also in The Drum, Gonzo Moose brings comedy adventure The Thing That Came from Over There to the venue. Inspired by the sci-fi B-movies of the 1950’s, the show is a fast paced adventure, mixing paranoia, suspense and gruesome moments. Three daring actors share over 15 roles in this 75-minute show, which combines visual gags, wit, puppetry and live music. The Thing That Came from Over There plays from 9 December to 30 December.
Tickets go on sale to TRP members on 13 November with the general on-sale starting on 18 November.
