The Tank announces Spring 2021 productions

The Tank have announced two of their upcoming co-productions for spring 2021: Islands of Contentment and Capricorn 29.

Hypokrit Productions and The Tank will present Dipti Bramhandkar’s Islands of Contentment, a moving meditation comprised of thirteen monologues presented in a unique virtual format that includes audience interaction through chat. The cast includes Nina Davuluri, Laura Gómez, Florencia Lozano, Ajay Naidu, Vinay Pathak, Dileep Rao, Bobby Daniel Rodriguez, Daphne Rubin-Vega, Lipica Shah, Suraj Sharma, Sathya Sridharan, Sumeet Vyas and Rita Wolf.

Directed by Arpita Mukherjee and Hannah Wolf, with select filmed monologues directed by Rahul Chitella (Azaad), the piece has lighting by Alexandra Vásquez Dheming, production design by Chen-Wei Liao, costumes by Dina El-Aziz, and sound by Ran Xia. The show will premiere on CyberTank on 19 April, with an opening night on 16 April, running until 2 May.

Alex Hare and Julia Izumi’s Capricorn 29 is a collaboration between The Tank and RealTime Interventions' postal plays festival, Post Theatrical. It is a micro movie musical that wrestles with the tyranny of age-based milestones, featuring original songs by Laura Galindo, Daniel and Patrick Lazour, STOMPCAT and Storm Thomas. The piece is directed by Alex Hare, with casting and further creatives to be announced at a later date. Capricorn 29 premieres on CyberTank on 20 May, running until 30 May.
