THE SHOW MUST GO ON LIVE! announces 18 West End shows & an all-star musical theatre cast
Following record-breaking ticket sales back in November, The Show Must Go On Live! has announced a star-studded line-up of 18 West End musicals, including a debut performance from Back To The Future, which will join Pretty Woman alongside each of the 16 musicals that make up the iconic “The Show Must Go On” design.
This historical concert will be the first time these musicals have ever shared a stage. It has been born out of the fantastic initiative set up by theatre industry workers Chris Marcus and Damien Stanton in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic in May 2020. Together, they formed the Theatre Support Fund and created stagey merchandise with an iconic “The Show Must Go On” logo, amalgamating the 16 most famous West End musicals of the moment. So far, they have raised over £850,000 with all profits from the merchandise going to Acting for Others, Fleabag Support Fund and the NHS Covid-19 Urgent Appeal.
The culmination of a year’s amazing work, this concert will bring together a star-studded cast alongside a choir of 16 Musical Theatre graduates from 2020.
In the order in which they appear on the logo, the line-up is as follows: Aisha Jawando in a performance from TINA – THE TINA TURNER MUSICAL, Marcus Harman in a performance from Dear Evan Hansen, Sharan Phull in a performance from Everybody’s Talking About Jamie, Collette Guitart and Hana Stewart who will alternate in a performance from SIX, Trevor Dion Nicholas in a performance from Hamilton, Dom Simpson and Tom Xander in a performance from The Book of Mormon, Laura Pick in a performance from WICKED, Tilly-Raye Bayer, Imogen Cole, Alyssa D’Souza, Alex Munden and Carly Thoms in a performance from the Royal Shakespeare Company’s Matilda The Musical, Jordan Luke Gage in a performance from & Juliet, John Owen Jones in a performance from Les Misérables, cast members in a performance from Disney’s The Lion King, Christine Allado and Alexia Khadime in a performance from The Prince of Egypt, Alice Fearn in a performance from Come From Away, Lucy St Louis and Rhys Whitfield in a performance from The Phantom Of The Opera, Zizi Strallen in a performance from Mary Poppins and Mazz Murray in a performance from MAMMA MIA!
Back To The Future The Musical and Pretty Woman both had their UK productions cut short last year due to the pandemic. Now slated to open at the Adelphi Theatre and Savoy Theatre respectively this summer, they will join the previously announced 16 musicals with Olly Dobson in Back to the Future The Musical and Aimie Atkinson in a Pretty Woman The Musical.
West End musical writing duo Stile & Drewe have written a brand-new opening number especially for the show, entitled “The Show Must Go On!” The show also features an award-winning creative team and will run at the Palace Theatre from 2-6 June. Tickets have sold like hot cakes and can be purchased here.
