The Prom film adaptation sets December release date on Netflix

It has been announced this afternoon that the film adaptation of Broadway musical, The Prom, will be released on Netflix on 11 December.

Screenwriter, Director and Producer Ryan Murphy revealed the news, along with a video, on his Twitter account saying: "On December 11, let Netflix take you to The Prom you didn't get this year."

The film, written by Bob Martin and Chad Beguelin, will star James Corden, Ariana DeBose, Keegan-Michael Key, Nicole Kidman, Andrew Rannells, Meryl Streep and Kerry Washington.

The Prom follows four famous Broadway stars who try to help a lesbian student banned from bringing her girlfriend to prom.
