It has been announced today that the smash hit comedy The Play That Goes Wrong will return to The Mayflower Theatre next year.

Mischief Theatre’s The Play That Goes Wrong has multiple awards to its name and has been leaving audiences in hysterics in the West End for six years. Since opening at a London fringe theatre, the show has been seen by over two million people and has enjoyed over 30 productions across the globe. Their other successes include A Comedy About A Bank Robbery, Magic Goes Wrong and recent television series, The Goes Wrong Show.

The comedy play tells the story of the fictional Cornley Polytechnic Drama Society, who are thrilled to be staging a murder mystery in the grandeur of a large theatre; but as the title suggests, everything that can go wrong, does go wrong! They are an accident-prone bunch but are determined to reach the final curtain call no matter what happens.

Written by the company’s founding members Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer and Henry Shields, and directed by Mark Bell, the show is due to run at the venue from 2-7 February 2021.

The touring cast will be announced shortly.
