THE PLAY THAT GOES WRONG celebrates 8th anniversary in West End and extends until October 2023

8 years on and still going strong, and wrong! Today, Mischief Theatre’s smash hit comedy The Play That Goes Wrong celebrates its eighth anniversary in the West End and has announced an extension to the madness and chaos at the Duchess Theatre, with tickets now on sale through to 29 October 2023.

Since the Duchess Theatre opened in 1929, The Play That Goes Wrong has become the venue’s longest running play and since opening eight years ago, the mischievous cast members have been struck 99,820 times with 35 strikes either by each other or objects per show.

Awarded the Best New Comedy WhatsOnStage award in 2104, the Best New Comedy Olivier Award in 2015 and a Tony Award for its Broadway transfer, The Play That Goes Wrong has delighted audiences all over the world. It is a testament to the hard-working Mischief team who met in drama school and have since created an incredible body of work. There are no signs of The Play That Goes Wrong slowing down, nearly 10 years on from its first performance at the Old Red Lion with only 4 people in the audience. It now has productions in over 30 countries and has played to over two million people.

The current West End cast includes Mikhail Sen as Chris, Jaouhar Ben Ayed as Dennis, Tendai Humphrey Sitima as Robert, Anya de Villiers as Sandra, Ashh Blackwood as Annie, Scott Hunter as Max, Oliver Mott as Jonathan and Tomisin Ajani as Trevor along with understudies (or as Mischief calls them, Thunderstudies) Emily Waters, Stuart Vincent, Jack Whittle, Charlie Richards and Roisin Fahey.
