National Theatre shows

The National Theatre have today announced the on-sale dates for their upcoming productions and the long awaited return of daytime opening for visitors.

The tickets for Trouble in Mind, Wuthering Heights and Small Island will all go on sale on 7 October.

Trouble in Mind by Alice Childress will be performed in the Dorfman Theatre from 2 December 2021-29 January 2022, which tells the story of racial equality in 1950s America and how that erupts in the face of voter suppression.

A new version of Wuthering Heights will be presented from the Lyttelton Theatre, with direction from Emma Rice. The classic Emily Brontë tale will run from 3 February-19 March 2022 in co-production with Wise Children, Bristol Old Vic and York Theatre Royal, and will kick start a UK wide tour through 2022.

Taking to the Olivier stage will be Small Island, a critically acclaimed production of Andrea Levy’s novel, which plays from 24 February-16 April 2022 after having been postponed due to Covid. Having been adapted by Helen Edmundson, it tells the tale of the tangled history between Jamaica and the UK.

The previously announced show The Father and the Assassin by Anupama Chandrasekhar will take to the stage later in 2022.

Having been closed since March 2020, the National Theatre will now reopen its doors to daytime visitors and to celebrate this, has joined forces with street food pioneers KERB to provide a completely refreshed food and drink experience.

Throughout the 11 spaces and restaurants, KERB will provide locally-sourced produce and offer street food start-ups and independent restauranteurs a place to show off their food.
