The Mill at Sonning to present immersive production of STILL LIFE

The Mill at Sonning will present an immersive production of Noel Coward’s Still Life in its Waterwheel Bar from 20-29 January, it has been announced.

Still Life is the poignant and romantic tale of forbidden love that inspired David Lean’s classic film Brief Encounter.

The bar will be transformed into the refreshment room at Milford Junction railway station in 1936. The audience will sit at tables as if they are actually in the railway station itself, with live music and sound effects to add atmosphere, and servers dressed in period costume.

The play will unfold whilst audience members can eat lunch, supper, afternoon cream tea or a hot drink with a Bath Bun.

The cast includes: Alasdair Craig (War Horse), Rachel Pickup (The 39 Steps), Elizabeth Elvin (The Mousetrap), Antony Jardine (The Secret Garden) and Emily Panes (Cinderella, Barn Theatre).

The production will be directed by Tam Williams, with lighting and sound by Graham Weymouth and costumes by Natalie Titchener.
