The Mill at Sonning announces its cast for TOP HAT

The upcoming production of musical Top Hat at The Mill at Sonning has today announced its cast and creative team. 

The production, which is to be directed by Jonathan O’Boyle (The Last Five Years) will star Jack Butterworth (The Boy Friend) as Jerry Travers, Billie-Kay as Dale Tremont. Brendan Cull as Bates, Tiffany Graves as Madge, with Paul Kemble as Horace and Delme Thomas as Beddini. 

Further casting includes Joel Baylis, Charlie Booker, Courtney George, Jinny Gould, Alex Harrison, Connor Hughes, Meg Power and Charlotte Coggin. 

Top Hat brings the glamour of Hollywood’s golden age to the stage. The musical is based on the 1935 film of the same name, which stars Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers. It tells the story of Jerry Travers, a Broadway sensation who dances his way across Europe and wins the heart of society girl Dale Tremont.

The Irving Berlin musical features recognisable songs such as ‘Puttin on the Ritz’, ‘Cheek to Cheek’ and ‘Top Hat, White Tie and Tails and was transformed into a stage musical in 2011, with Strictly Come Dancing winner Tom Chambers playing Jerry. 

Top Hat will be presented by Concord Theatricals Ltd, and has a production team comprised of choreographer Ashley Nottingham, set designer Jason Denvir, sound designer Chris Whybrow, musical arranger Francis Goodhands, musical director Chris Poon and lighting designer Nic Farman.

The show will run at The Mill at Sonning from 16 October 2021 to 8 January 2022.
