The Fabulous Invalid releases epic two-part episode – JERRY HERMAN: POET OF THE SHOWTUNE

Broadway podcast The Fabulous Invalid has released a brand new two-part episode today, titled Jerry Herman: Poet of the Showtune, celebrating the Broadway icon.

Co-hosts Jamie DuMont and Robert Russo take an in-depth look at the life, work and legacy of the legendary composer and lyricist; who created musical hits including Hello, Dolly!MameLa Cage aux Folles, and many more.

During the two-part show, the hosts speak with performers including Academy and Tony Award winner Joel Grey, Florence Lacey, Lee Roy Reams, and Alix Korey; Musical Director of the Tony Award-winning revival of Hello, Dolly! Andy Einhorn; producer Barry Brown; and actress and cabaret star Molly Pope.

Part One focuses on two of Herman’s biggest hits, Hello, Dolly! and Mame; along with one of his biggest flops, The Grand Tour. Then Part Two shines a light on some of his lesser known shows: Milk and HoneyDear WorldMack and Mabel, as well as his ultimate comeback hit, La Cage aux Folles.
