The Barbican and the Bridge Theatre will be joining forces for the first time next month on the London premiere of Flight.

The theatre installation has been created by Vox Motus and originally premiered at the Edinburgh International Festival in 2017. This run will mark its debut in London, where it will take place at the Bridge Theatre from 10 November 2020 – 16 January 2021.

The show is based on the novel Hinterland by Caroline Brothers. It has been adapted by Oliver Emanuel and will be staged at the Bridge by Candice Edmunds and Jamie Harrison.

Audience members will be seated individually, wearing headsets which will feed binaural sound to the participant. It tells the story of two orphaned brothers on a journey from Kabul to London, honouring "the resilience of refugee children adrift in dangerous lands".

Flight will be performed by Nalini Chetty, Emun Elliott and Farshid Rokey.

Co-director of the Bridge’s London Theatre Company, Tim Levy, said: "Having followed Flight’s much-celebrated journey from Edinburgh to New York, we are honoured to give it its London premiere here at the Bridge. This is an exciting opportunity for us to expand our repertoire, as we continue to welcome back our audiences and champion bold new forms of theatre. We are delighted to be working alongside our friends at the Barbican for the first time and we look forward to sharing this beautiful and poignant piece.”
