Teaser trailer released for film adaptation of Jonathan Larson’s TICK, TICK…BOOM!

A teaser trailer for the film adaptation of Jonathan Larson’s musical tick, tick…boom! has been released today.

Marking Lin-Manuel Miranda’s directorial debut for a feature film, tick, tick…boom! tells the story of an aspiring theatre composer who endures a midlife crisis as he approaches 30 and does not feel close to his dream.

Set to be released on Netflix (hopefully in Autumn 2021), the film features a star-studded cast including Andrew Garfield as Jonathan Larson, Vanessa Hudgens as Karessa Johnson, Alexandra Shipp as Susan, Judith Light as Rosa Stevens, Robin de Jesus as Michael, Joanna Adler as Molly, Joshua Henry as Roger, and Bradley Whitford as Stephen Sondheim (!) in a new performance created for the film.

The screenplay is written by Steven Levenson, with choreography by Ryan Heffington.
