The previously redundant Grade II listed Stockton Globe Theatre in the North East is set to reopen next year, following an extensive £28 million refurbishment.

The space originally opened in 1935 and was designed to host 1650 audience members (or 3000 without seating). It will now also have a smaller 250-seater venue adjacent to it.

The 1930’s art deco features will be restored and a full orchestra pit will be created.

The venue will be operated by the Ambassador Theatre Group and will initially host performances by Diversity, Paloma Faith, Adam Kay, Chris Ramsay, Jon Richardson and John Bishop, along with a Strictly Come Dancing special.
