Juliet Stevenson, Linda Bassett & Sophie Thompson amongst line-up for digital revival of Little Wars

Little Wars

An all-star female cast has been announced to perform in an online revival production of Steven Carl McCasland’s Little Wars.

The digital premiere of the acclaimed play, in collaboration with the Union Theatre, will star Linda Bassett (East is East), Debbie Chazen (The Girls), Natasha Karp (Rags), Catherine Russell (Holby City), Sarah Solemani (Him & Her), Juliet Stevenson (Truly, Madly, Deeply) and Sophie Thompson (Present Laughter).

Bringing together six exceptional women, Little Wars unites literary figureheads Gertrude Stein (Bassett), her girlfriend Alice Toklas (Russell), Dorothy Parker (Chazen), Lillian Hellman (Stevenson) and Agatha Christie (Thompson), with anti-fascist freedom fighter Muriel Gardiner (Solemani), in the most fantastical what-if dinner party imaginable. Tensions are high and secrecy lingers in the air, but with libations flowing and the threat of World War II looming the guests are close to boiling point.

The production will be available to download and stream online from 3-8 November.
