Spotlight Sunday: WHERE THE BEES FLY

19- year-old Company Founder, Artistic Director and Writer Erica Hartley creates new shows centred around important messages. Her company, Work In Progress Theatre, aims to make work which excites, engages, and challenges audiences. They want their audiences to be inspired to take action on important global issues after they leave the theatre.

Where The Bees Fly was written throughout 2020 and now Erica is looking for individuals, venues, or theatre companies to collaborate with in order for this stage to be shown in full. However, excerpts of it were performed at The Theatre Cafe yesterday as part of the company’s In Progress cabaret.

Where The Bees Fly is an exciting new musical with a heartfelt message of family, unlikely friendships and saving the environment. Set in Dystopian 2080, the aftermath of global warming and climate sets the scene. Leading character, Lotta, is trying to navigate the world around her whilst wishing she knew the world before. Accompanied by her history teacher Andor Fog, the pair travel back in time to 2017 where they meet punk activist Hazel. The 3 together will embark on an adventure to save us all.

Please keep an eye on our social media accounts today (24 April) to watch musical excerpts from the show. For more information on the musical, please click here.
