Spine-chilling live theatre experience THE WITCHING HOUR to premiere in Birmingham

Birmingham, brace yourself for the ghost story experience of the year... The Blue Orange Theatre’s resident producer, JW Theatres, presents new stage production The Witching Hour from 29 September - 21 October.

Combining contemporary thrills and ghost folk-lore, The Witching Hour is a spine-chilling live theatre experience, following on the theatre's previous success with The Wicked Lady and The Orphanage.

Blood will have blood on the Witches’ Sabbath. Disbelieved by some, avoided by many. It is those who know the most about the unspeakable horrors of this place who say the least.

Erin and Sam soon realise that their trip to Torhill Wood will not pass without their fair share of witchcraft and murder - can they make it out alive or have they disturbed too much?

The unnerving history, weaved with screams and torture, leave all who visit clutching the unshakeable feeling that the curse can only be kept buried for so long.

With fear and dread consuming them, this terrifying ghost story transcends time and place until all those who enter are left scrambling for a way out.

A fearless cast will plunge the audience into a nightmarish world of darkness and mystery from the moment they enter The Blue Orange Theatre’s intimate auditorium.

Inspired by the historic witch trials of the 17th century, The Witching Hour promises to leave audiences feeling both terrified and fascinated by the highly anticipated third instalment of their horror series.

Artistic Director of JW Theatres and The Blue Orange Theatre, James Williams, expands on the forthcoming production and what audiences can expect from The Witching Hour: "We've offered audiences the original highway woman, a psychotic doctor and now it is time to delve into the fascinating and disturbing world of witchcraft. We are delighted to be opening our third world premiere in as many years with this brand new, live horror experience.

"This new production encapsulates everything we love about horror mazes and scare fests. Audiences love our space because of the intimate connection between actor and viewer. We are thrilled to be opening later this year in Birmingham. Join us, if you dare!"

The Witching Hour is written and directed by James Williams, with set and lighting design by Alex Johnson, and sound by Daniel Clarkson. Further creatives and casting to be announced.
