Spellbinding folk music theatre play RAIN WEAVER to be presented as part of Camden Fringe

Folk music theatre play Rain Weaver makes its London premiere at The Cockpit from 1-3 August as part of Camden Fringe.

A riveting tale told through movement, original live music and spoken word, Rain Weaver is heavily inspired by our lived experiences as an international collaboration.

“When the storms cleared, the people were gone.

Nothing was left but heat and…

One mountain, one last place where the rain survived.”

The sand came, the kingdoms fell. Now, there is only one village left where there is still rain. Legends speak of gods and spirits who keep the thirst at bay. But hidden away, it is Rain Weaver Oo using her ancient craft to provide.

When lies come to light, Oo faces a world full of scavengers and moving towns, desperate for her skills. How much of this need can one single person fill, and at what cost to herself?

Set in a dystopian world, the production explores the intricate interactions between an isolated society and a foreign rain weaver arriving with a different understanding and a much-needed skill.

The cast includes Kelsey Yuhara as Rain Weaver Oo, Yuxuan Liu as Hage/others, Charlotte Rutherfoord as Child/others, and Kieran Capaldi as Father/Narrator/others.

Produced and written by Lilli Lehmann, Rain Weaver is directed by Apostolos Zografos, with composition by Maggie Yu, musical direction by Joshua Tang, costumes by Oli Fuller, and lighting by Cheng Keng.
