Bridge House Theatre in South London will reopen this summer under a new management team and will focus on under-represented artists such as non-binary and working-class creatives.

The theatre was previously run by Guy Retallack but unfortunately had to close at the end of last year. Actor, writer and director Luke Adamson has decided to revive the 60-seat theatre, which sits above the Bridge House pub in Penge.

The programme will feature shows from established small scale companies and aims to provide opportunities for emerging theatre makers. Adamson is also hoping to run a course on producing small-scale theatre, which will run at the venue and be offered on a ‘pay what you decide’ basis. They will also offer each company that performs the opportunity to film their show to stream once the run has ended.

Adamson hopes that he can create a theatre that offers opportunities and representation to groups that are traditionally under-represented in the theatre world including the aforementioned non-binary and working-class, alongside gender-fluid and LGBTQ+ artists with entertaining and socially conscious theatre.
