Socially distanced pantomime announced at Newcastle Theatre Royal

Robin Hood Newcastle Theatre Royal

Following yesterday’s announcement about panto going ahead in Southampton this Christmas, Qdos Entertainment has also announced a socially distanced pantomime will take place at Newcastle Theatre Royal this festive season.

Both Christmas productions have been made possible by support by the National Lottery.

A pantomime production of Humpty Dumpty was originally postponed at Newcastle Theatre Royal but they have now announced a new socially distanced production of Robin Hood will take its place this year.

The one-act pantomime will star The Acromaniacs, Danny Adams, Zoe Birkett, Joe McElderry, Chris Hayward, Phil Hitchcock, Mick Potts and Clive Webb.

Producer and Director of Robin Hood, Michael Harrison, said: "We all hope 2020 has been a ’one off’ and this panto will also be a ’one off’, a collector’s item for panto fans.

"I have just finished the script and worked through the scenery and music plans and I’m as excited for Robin Hood as I have been for any panto in the past 16 years – perhaps even more so."

Robin Hood will run from 19 December  2020 – 10 January 2021.
