Sky Arts to broadcast variety of stage productions over coming months

Sky Arts have announced the broadcast a number of stage productions and adaptations over the coming months.

In November, Beat the Devil (written and directed by David Hare and starring Ralph Fiennes) will be presented, with the film adaptation being based on the stage show of the same name. Death of England: Face to Face, put together by the National Theatre’s deputy artistic director Clint Dyer, playwright Roy Williams, Neil Maskell and Giles Terera, will also be shown in November, along with Ayad Akhtar’s The Invisible Hand, presented as a 100-minute broadcast.

Five micro-plays from Birmingham Repertory Theatre will be shown in November, along with Play in a Day which sees three groups of creatives having 24 hours to stage a trio of 15-minute productions, returning in December.

Two shows in the Re:Emerge West End season, Walden starring Fehinti Balogun, Gemma Arterton and Lydia Wilson, and Anna X starring Emma Corrin and Nabhaan Rizwan, will be shown on the Freeview channel in December.

December will also see Jane Horrocks, Tanya Reynolds and John Marquez working with BalletBoyz, Michael Nunn, William Trevitt and Richard Jones to create a new version of Rumpelstilzchen.

A new documentary on the origins of Punchdrunk will also be presented in 2022.
