Sir David Suchet returns to the stage with POIROT AND MORE, A RETROSPECTIVE

Poirot and More

Following a successful tour of Australia and New Zealand, Sir David Suchet will be returning to UK stages with a tour of Poirot and More, A Retrospective this autumn. The show will see Suchet retrace his steps as a young actor and his illustrious career.

In this unique event, which will see Suchet joined by journalist and biographer Geoffery Wansell as the interviewer, to journey through the many characters Suchet has played over a stage and TV career spanning five decades including his most famous detective role.

For 25 years, Suchet played Agatha Christie’s famous Belgian Detective Hercule Poirot but beyond Poirot, he has had the honour of bringing literary greats to life on the world stage including Shakespeare, Wilde, Albee and Miller; he is also an Associate Artist of the Royal Shakespeare Company.

Co-created by David Suchet and Liza McLean, Poirot and More, a Retrospective was produced with Andrew Kay for New Zealand and Australian audiences, and will be presented in the UK alongside Jonathan Church Theatre Productions.

Sir David Suchet said: “Regional theatre has always been very close to my heart as it’s where my career started and was nurtured. To visit so many places that have meant so much to me during my 52 year career is wonderful. This show is my way of connecting and saying hello to people across the country after this terrible period and welcoming them back into the theatre. I am looking forward to sharing my memories, stories and favourite moments.”

The show will open at The Watermill Theatre in Newbury on 5 October before it visits; Aylesbury Waterside Theatre, Cambridge Arts Theatre, York Theatre Royal, Belgrade Theatre, Coventry, The Lowry in Salford, Theatre Royal Brighton, Mayflower Theatre in Southampton, Marlowe Theatre in Canterbury, Theatre Royal Nottingham, Exeter Northcott Theatre, Richmond Theatre, Theatre Royal Bath, Princess Theatre Torquay, Yvonne Arnaud Theatre in Guildford, Birmingham Repertory Theatre, Malvern Theatres before ending its run at Stockton Globe.

Tickets are available from individual theatres.
