Lauren Samuels and Sophie Evans announce album celebrating the music of Judy Garland
West End stars Lauren Samuels and Sophie Evans have announced – and released their first single from - an album entitled Chasing Rainbows, Finding Judy, which celebrates the music of the legendary Judy Garland.
Lauren Samuels and Sophie Evans first came to prominence in BBC1 show Over the Rainbow, where they were both vying for the coveted role of Dorothy made famous by Garland. Both made the final three and have gone on to have successful stage careers.
A decade on from when the show first aired, the two stars have reunited to celebrate where it all began and record a stunning album of songs made famous by Judy Garland. The first single ‘The Rainbow’s End’ has been released today and is available on all good music services.
Other songs featured on the album will include ‘The Trolley Song’ from Meet me in St Louis, ‘On The Sunny Side of the Street’ and ‘Get Happy’.
The album, produced by Grammy nominated producer James McMillan, aims to bring Judy’s classic songs to younger audiences. Samuels & Evans will perform songs from the album live at Crazy Coqs in London on 27 July at 9pm, with tickets available now here.
The album Chasing Rainbows, Finding Judy is available to pre-order now ahead of its release on 2 July 2021.
