Samuel Beckett’s FOOTFALLS & ROCKABY to play at Jermyn Street Theatre

This November the Jermyn Street Theatre will continue its association with the work of Samuel Beckett by staging the 45th Anniversary of ‘Footfalls’and the 40th anniversary of ‘Rockaby’ both Beckett plays.

Also, contuinung her association with the Irish playwright will be Siân Phillips (I,Claudius, Hedda Gabler’), having first met Beckett in 1966 with his first work for television she will now star in the anniversary performances of his shows. Joining Philips will be Charlotte Emmerson (The Postman Always Rings Twice) in the two rarely performed pieces.

Directing the pieces will be Richard Beecham with set design and costume by Simon Kenny, lighting by Ben Ormerod and sound by Adrienne Quartley.

Artistic Director of Jermyn Street Theatre, Tom Littler says "We are delighted to welcome Dame Sian Phillips and Charlotte Emmerson to perform these two extraordinary plays by the master miniaturist, Samuel Beckett. The running time is short, but they will live long in the memory. It is a pleasure to share the work with the audiences of Theatre Royal Bath."

The pieces will run at the Jermyn Street Theatre from 3 to 20 November and then will transfer across to the Ustinov Studio at Theatre Royal Bath from 24 November until 4 December.

Tickets for both pieces are available now and socially distanced performances will run on both Monday 8 and Monday 15 November.
