Mark Rylance and Sean Foley to appear in one-off performance of I AM SHAKESPEARE at Old Vic

Mark Rylance and Sean Foley will appear in a special rehearsed reading of Rylance’s first play, I Am Shakespeare, at the Old Vic on 27 November, as part of the 100th anniversary of the Shakespearean Authorship Trust. 

Rylance will play Frank Charlton, with Foley as Barry Wild, alongside original cast members from the 2007 Chichester Festival Theatre production: Alex Hassell as Edward de Vere, Colin Hurley as William Shakspar, Sam Parks as Sergeant Trevor Freeman/His Twin/Telephone Salesman, and Juliet Rylance as Lady Mary Sidney, with further casting to be announced. 

I Am Shakespeare will be narrated by Annabel Leventon, with music by Claire van Kampen.
