The Royal Court Theatre and Sonia Friedman Productions have announced casting for Robert Icke’s Manhunt, which plays in the Jerwood Theatre Downstairs from 28 March - 3 May.
Written and directed by Robert Icke, Manhunt tells the story of Raoul Moat: the man at the heart of one of the most infamous manhunts of the century.
The cast includes: Samuel Edward-Cook (Player Kings, West End), Trevor Fox (As You Like It, RSC), Leo James (Peter and the Wildflowers, BALLETlorent/Live), Patricia Jones (Mycelial, Northern Stage/Open Clasp), Danny Kirrane (People, Places and Things, West End), Angela Lonsdale (Gypsy the Concert, Hope Mill/Opera House Manchester), Sally Messham (Tipping the Velvet, Lyric Hammersmith), and Nicolas Tennant (The Birthday Party, Theatre Royal Bath).
Nathan Jago (Babies) and Odhran Riddell (Between the Lights) will alternate the role of Boy, and Zoe Bryan (That Christmas) and Madeleine McKenna (Too Deep) will alternate the role of Girl.
The production is designed by Hildegard Bechtler, with lighting by Azusa Ono, sound by Tom Gibbons, video design by Ash J Woodward, and casting by Julia Horan CDG.
On July 1st, 2010, Raoul Moat was released from Durham Prison.
The events of the next few days would leave a man murdered, a police officer blinded, a woman fighting for her life - and spark the biggest manhunt in UK history.
Award-winning writer and director Robert Icke provides a chilling portrait of a man on the run.
