Royal & Derngate Theatres announce new Charity Album

Royal & Derngate Theatres and Atlantic Screen Music have today announced the release of a contemporary and electronic music album entitled ‘INCIDENTAL: Music for The Stage’, which features original compositions for theatre inspired by some of the most famous plays and novels in the English Language. 

 This charity album, which will help to raise vital funds to support Northampton Royal & Derngate Theatres’ reopening, features original music from stage productions by composers such as Anne Dudley, Rachel Portman, Isobel Waller-Bridge, Nick Cave, the Bad Seeds and Renell Shaw with spoken word performances from actors including Giles Terera, Patricia Routledge, James Norton, Judi Dench, Amanda Seyfried, Felicity Jones, Sharon D Clarke, Lesley Sharp, Stephen Fry, Indira Varma, Maxine Peake, Anton Lesser and Simon Russell Beale. 

To launch the project today, two singles have been released; Rachel Portman’s prologue to ‘A Tale of Two Cities’ featuring Judi Dench and White Lies’ prologue to ‘Cat on a Hot Tin Roof’ featuring Amanda Seyfried. Both are available to listen to here and to download here
