Rose Theatre Kingston to reopen for new socially-distanced season

Rose Theatre Kingston

Kingston’s Rose Theatre will open up its doors to the public again next month. Located in South West London, live performances at the theatre will resume from 28 October, exactly six months after it was forced to close. A small selection of productions are now on sale, with more shows due to be announced in the coming weeks.

The ‘Return to the Rose’ season will open with the 40th anniversary tour of Educating Rita, starring Stephen Tompkinson and Jessica Johnson. In November, Russell Kane will launch a new series of comedy nights, whilst the award-winning Woke will have an extremely limited run. The year will then come to a close with Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler’s festive Stick Man.

After a summer of Zoom meetings, all Rose Participate activities will also resume in person from this weekend. This includes Youth Theatre classes for those aged 5-18 and the popular adults acting course. Staff have been trained on all new safety measures and all sessions will be planned with social-distancing guidelines in mind.

But whilst the auditorium will be open, all front of house areas will remain closed until further notice. This includes the cafe, though pre-ordered refreshments will be available to purchase via the Rose food and beverage app.
