Fringe review: TRAINSPOTTING LIVE, King’s Head and In Your Face - Edinburgh Festival Fringe

Adapted by Harry Gibson from the novel by Irvine Welsh, Trainspotting Live is an immersive production. Tracking the misadventures of a group of young men in Edinburgh, trying to find their way out of drug addiction, joblessness and dead end relationships.

If you've seen the film then beware, you're about to become part of the infamous 'worst toilet in Scotland' scene!

The cast is lead by Andrew Barrett as Renton, his cheeky persona winning over the audience straight away. Greg Esplin is Tommy, Michael Lockerbie is Sick Boy and Olivier Sublet is Begbie, an equally scary character off screen, as you would expect. Lauren Downie completes the cast as Allison and June (as well as a number of other characters), she has a confidence and obvious talent no matter which she is playing and is a pleasure to watch.

Directed by Greg Esplin and Ben Anderson , the whole production is superb. Having seen it last year, it just seems to get better and better and the company have an incredible energy that they bring to the performance.

This is definitely one you cannot afford to miss!

Choose Live. Choose Immersive. Choose Trainspotting.
