Review: INVASION, Bad Clowns Comedy (Online)

Invasion 5 stars

The Bureau for Alien Defence has been keeping the world safe from extra-terrestrial threats for years, but could this be the worst one of all?  A mind-controlling alien has infiltrated Earth and the audience.  It is B.A.D. Agents Sam and Christian’s mission to stop them.  Worst of all, they are being monitored by B.A.D. legend Special Agent J-1, what could possibly go wrong?

Invasion is written by Sam Walls, Christian Dart and John Bond who make up the trio that is Bad Clowns Comedy.

Opening with a cheesy pop style song asking “Are you an Alien?”, it is clear that laughs are on their way.

Removing the fourth wall, there is plenty of interaction with the audience and rapport built, as agents Sam and Christian search for the Alien amongst them.

However, their investigation hits a snag when the discovery of a lethal alien weapon is made and the only person who can disarm it, Special Agent J-1, accidentally wipes his own memory!

Can agents Sam and Christian find the alien and disable the device before it destroys the entire planet?  Will Special Agent J-1 remember who he is?

The comedy is as fast paced and satirical of the Men in Black films.  Although clearly scripted, there are many hilarious ad libs all round that give the piece a feel of the stand-up comedy atmosphere.

Brilliantly put together, Invasion is witty and entertaining and perfect if you’re looking for a comical night out with a bit of a difference.
