KEVIN!!! Enroute to gay Paris, Kevin’s parents realise they’ve left their bébé at home… alone!

Homo Alone, written by Jodie Prenger & Bobby Delaney, is a fun, adult twist on the classic 1990 Christmas film, Home Alone. Kevin’s Christmas wish of making his family disappear and having the house to himself doesn’t quite turn out the way he might have first pictured. Besties, this is a production you’ll want to hear more about and will no doubt have you walking out of the theatre with a smile on your face!

Directed by Alex Jackson, the production is formed by four actors who bring the camp Christmas magic to life. These include Elliott Evans as Kevin who does an excellent job at bringing a cheeky, fun loving character to the spotlight. Also featured are Allie Dart as Kate, Jack North as Peter and Steph Asamoah as Buzz, who also all double up to play dual roles throughout. Dart’s brilliant comedic timing paired with North’s hilarious wit work really well together, with Asamoah also adding some great comedy into the mix.

Louie Whitemore’s quirky, picturesque set design comes across really well and like the film, the 1990’s homely design is something which feels instantly welcoming when you walk in to the Studio. The creative and bright costume design is also a highlight with many a costume change.

Lauren Hopkinson’s musical direction, with music editing from Alex Bourne, includes many musical numbers performed in turn by all four actors. Song tributes to festive numbers, pop classics and nostalgic music from the Home Alone film itself, with some creative lyrics thrown in, are something fun to look out for. Rob Atkinson’s unique sound design should also be mentioned here.

Dale White’s slick, fun and well timed choreography should be praised as a highlight for the duration of the show. This can also be said about Chris McDonnell’s lighting design which compliments the action well.

This production is packed full of adult fun and has everything you need to not stay home alone. A queer, Christmas production which brings the festive feel good!
