Review: DISNEY POP-UP EXPERIENCE, Covent Garden

Disney Pop-Up 3.5 stars

Covent Garden’s Carriage Hall is currently playing host to A Disney Pop up Experience

Nestled amongst the busy streets of London, Disney fans can go and view costumes, props and small scale sets from Disney’s West End shows.

The experience is fairly short and has less involved than what is originally conjured with the word ‘experience’, however, it has lots of interesting points for Disney fans.

First, you enter Mrs Corry’s sweet shop for some ‘Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious’ fun, followed by the cave of wonders where you can pose with Aladdin’s famous magic lamp and learn facts about the stage show and recent film.

You can then visit Beauty and the Beast for a sneak peek into the upcoming stage show, scheduled to open in Bristol later this month before touring the UK and Ireland. The biggest part of the exhibition quite rightly belongs to Disney’s flagship musical The Lion King, with further costumes, props and fascinating trivia on how exactly the famous masks are made.

We also catch a glimpse of the famous Elsa costume before Samantha Barks dons it later in the year when Frozen opens at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane.

It is short and sweet but it is also free so if you’re an avid Disney fan, walk up slots are available until Monday 30 August.
