Fringe review: A NIGHT TO REMEMBER, Heart and Soul Producers - Edinburgh Festival Fringe Online

The Christmas story, Broadway-style. You’ll be surprised by Roman soldiers, witness Jewish oppression, be in awe of the Wisemen’s lavish costumes, hear yodelling shepherds and learn to love the hilarious Herod the great – all in 60 minutes!

A Night to Remember by Heart and Soul Producers, performed and recorded at The King Centre, Melbourne, Florida, provides us with a 60-minute production exploring the depth of the religious story we’re all aware of.

Written by Jim Patterson & produced by Wendy Patterson, A Night to Remember makes it’s Edinburgh Fringe debut this year bringing original theatre to the forefront of online performance.

The story itself takes us back to the Old Testament when the Jewish nation was under Roman rule prior to the nativity. Opening the show are a festive gathering of people who are all getting ready for the holidays. This is swiftly followed by interlinking scenes with a large scale cast.

Throughout the production, there are a variety of different elements to grab your attention, including bright scenic lighting and creative eye catching scenery, whilst also providing mellow but jazzy upbeat songs and movement. Costume design by Emily Pippin should also have recognition here for it’s vibrancy.

This production is formed of catchy sing-a-long songs and actors of all ages who bring the energy throughout. A wonderful, lavish show to get you into the Christmas spirit…even though it’s summer!
