The Vicar of Dibley star Trevor Peacock has sadly passed away from a dementia-related illness, aged 89.

Peacock is best known for playing Jim Trott in the popular sitcom for 13 years, but was also a respected stage actor.

He worked countless times at the Royal Exchange in Manchester, in both a writing and acting capacity, along with performing in a number of RSC productions, including Henry IV, Parts I and IIHenry VSherlock Holmes and The Merry Wives of Windsor during the 1970’s, and their 1988 production of The Wizard of Oz.

Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this difficult time.
