It has been announced this morning that the legendary Meat Loaf has sadly passed away at the age of 74.

Along with being the music icon we know and love him to be, selling 100 million albums, he also appeared on stage in Hair on and off Broadway, as well as being in the original LA cast of The Rocky Horror Show playing Eddie, a role he recreated in the film.

One of Meat Loaf’s most iconic numbers, ‘Bat Out of Hell’ (written by Jim Steinman), inspired the musical of the same name which is currently touring the UK.

His family gave a statement this morning saying: “We know how much he meant to so many of you and we truly appreciate all of the love and support as we move through this time of grief in losing such an inspiring artist and beautiful man. From his heart to your souls…don't ever stop rocking!"

Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this difficult time.
